The above options list some of the factories which may be visited within each 4 or 8 hour shopping tour. Some or all of the factories may be visited as suggested but the tour may actually vary depending on how long clients spend shopping at each factory!.
All factories open 8am - 12pm and re-open at 2pm - 6pm.
They are closed for lunch from 12pm - 2pm!.
Some factories are closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. Consult SOS for weekend shopping tours.
For halfday excursions, clients are picked up at their hotel at 8am and return at 12:30pm for morning or at 2:00pm and return at 6:30pm for afternoon.
For fullday excursions, clients are picked up at their hotel at 8am and return at 5pm. Lunch is not included!.
All tours include an air-conditioned car for 1-3 pax and English-speaking driver/escort for max total of 4 in the car. Specialty cars such as limousines and minivans may be arranged with advance notice.
Tours for 4-8 pax are provided in an air-conditioned minivan which must be reserved about 2 weeks in advance and are for fullday only.
If a specialty car is booked, clients are picked up at 8:30am.
Shopping excursions may save the clients about 50% off of regular priced items including tax free! Depending on the store or outlet, the discount might already include tax deduction on-the-spot or the tax is reimbursble at the airport upon departure from Italy.
Most factories accept cash, VISA or MC. Some may accept AMEX!
Additional hours amounting to €40/hour are payable direct to the escort!
The number of factories typically visited in a halfday excursion is about 3. For fullday,
it is about 6.
NOTE: Most of the brand name outlets, alabaster, furniture, kitchens, marble, antiques, main shoe factories & main leather garment factories, are about an hour drive from Florence
SOS will assist in finding reputable cargo companies for shipping large items such as marble statues, furniture, etc. back to USA at reasonable prices
Other factories not on this list may also be requested. Please indicate preference at time of booking. SOS will advise best combination possible.
